Artisans tour Florentine Arts and Crafts

The tradition of Florentine craftsmanship has always been at the basis of the social and artistic component of Florence, also appreciated by kings and nobles. In Florence, small artisan shops have existed for centuries, which preserve the tradition of "hand-crafting" various objects, including leather shoes and bags, hats, gloves and gold and silver jewelry. The tour at the artisan workshops in Florence will be an opportunity to learn about the different processing techniques of the craftsmen, handed down from generation to generation. We will choose the best artisan workshops, to enter the world of an art that has been perpetuated for centuries.
We will discover how leather, wood carving, semi-precious stone salesman, ceramics and marbled paper are processed. You will meet your guide in Piazza Santa Maria Novella, in front of the Basilica

Tour program

Also this tour includes a passage to the Pharmacy of Santa Maria Novella, because there are still products made according to the artisanal techniques of the Dominican friars.
From Piazza Santa Maria Novella we will cross Borgo Ognissanti to visit the workshop of a famous paper craftsman, specialized in an ancient decoration technique called marbling.
Passing, then, through Piazza Santa Trinita and Borgo Santissimi Apostoli we will admire small shops up to Ponte Vecchio, famous above all for the many shops of goldsmiths. Here we will visit one of the workshops to see the artisans at work and understand how gold is worked following ancient Florentine techniques.
We will cross Piazza della Signoria to arrive at the Dante district, where the tour ends, with an artisan specialized in the processing of 100% Florentine leather objects.
The tour may be subject to variations as the guide must also take into account the days and opening hours of the shops concerned.
